What do we offer?

A. Reef Check Eco Diver Course (14 Days)

Overview
This course is designed to provide participants the knowledge of how to identify key indicator fish, invertebrates and coral substrates selected by Reef Check for global monitoring and conservation of coral reefs. Also learning the method of conducting the full-scale Reef Check surveys.

Details of the programme

  • Reef Check Eco Diver Certification – complete in 4 days with theory study and dives
  • Biorock Project Part One – Help with underwater coral gardening or transplanting coral nursery
  • Diving in Biorock Project Part Two – Underwater cleanup and predator hunt
  • Fish ID Workshop Dive Practical – Coral Reef survey on Pemuteran local reefs and Menjangan reefs

What will you receive

  •   Reef Check Eco Diver Certification
  •   The data set of the data that you have collected

The length and price of the course

  • 14 Days (21 dives)
  • IDR 10,950,000 (excluding transport and accommodation)

Who should apply

Those interested to be certified to conduct your own Reef Check surveys and take an active role in coral reefs conservation.

B. Marine Protected Area Project – Marine Biology Divemaster internship, In Nusa Lembongan ( 2 months )

 

Overview

Would you like to become a confident dive professional as well as acquiring a solid foundation to work in applied Marine Biology projects worldwide?
This internship will give you the necessary background to work in serious conservation projects or/and as a responsible and knowledgeable professional diver.

Details of the programme

  • Learn from our marine biologist – through participating in conservation projects and assist with data collections together with the marine biologist
  • Become Divemaster and Dive Guide – learning how to guide certified divers and learn about the different dive sites
  • Assist courses – From Discover Scuba Diving to Rescue Diver classroom, and open water and learn a lot about the daily functioning of a professionally managed dive center
  • Organize workshops for the community – Green workshops with local school children/organizations about ocean conservations and protect the environment

What will you receive?

  • Training and invaluable experiences in the ocean as a research diver
  • PADI Divemaster Certification (you will have all you need to proceed immediately with the Instructor course if you would like to go into a career as a diving instructor)
  • Completion of MPAP Divemaster Internship Certification
  • Recommendation letter (by request)
  • All confirmations needed to validate credits with your university (by request)
  • The data set of the data that you have collected

The length of the internship

2 months (certified diver), can be longer if additional courses required.

If you want to make a career in the marine conservation, marine biology or diving industry and at the same time to make a difference and have a real impact: this program is perfect for you! Please note there is no need to be an advanced scuba diver in order to apply.

C. DMT Biorock Coral Reef Conservation Internship, in Permuteran (2 months)

Overview

This is a Divemaster training program combined with Coral Reef Conservation focused study and training. This internship consists of theory study and practical diving allowing you to learn about the importance of Coral reef conservation. Join our team in keeping the corals grow healthy, measuring and collecting the environmental data. You will also be involved in the day to day dive shop operation.

Details of the programme

The Theory Modules:

  • Biorock Project Part One & Two Theory + Practice (with dives)
  • Fish ID Workshop
  • Reef Check Eco Diver Course (with certification)
  • PADI Divemaster training

The Practical Modules:

  • Conduct coral reef research and fish count surveys
  • Learn about Biorock Technology
  • Help with underwater coral gardening
  • Learn and conduct coral surveys
  • Become Divemaster
  • Participate in beach / underwater clean up and coral predator hunt activities in Pemuteran or Menjangan

What will you receive

  • PADI Divemaster Certification (you will have all you need to proceed immediately with the Instructor course if you would like to go into a career as a diving instructor)
