I have been a WiseOceans Marine Educator based in Four Seasons Resort Seychelles for the past 16 months. Then two weeks ago I packed up my belongings and flew 16 degrees south to the beautiful island of Mauritius.

Living and working in Seychelles was an unforgettable experience. This was my first position as a Marine Educator with WiseOceans and I took to it like a duck to water, building upon my skills of marine education and conservation, and learning the ways of a five star resort.

However it was time for a change of scenery…. Hello Mauritius!

New office!

Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita had been closed for a short period for renovation and has now reopened with the grand addition of the WiseOceans Marine Education Station – my new office. From the moment I arrived I received a warm welcome from all the staff who were excited to see the arrival of new activities and education. Although a little colder in the water here than in Seychelles, I love heading out on the boat for a Reef Discovery Snorkel with guests, or exploring the Marvellous Mangroves. With two marine habitats to explore I will be armed with an ever-increasing array of fun facts and information and will always be ready to share my knowledge of the marine life around my new home. The time so far has flown by and each day I settle more comfortably into the role and life in Mauritius; pretty sure the regular sightings of dolphins has something to do with this!

Although it was sad to say goodbye to Seychelles, I am excited for the new adventure and all Mauritius has to offer!
