Brighton Dolphin Project: Marine Experts Talks, In Search of Orcas & other Marine Creatures

August 18, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

The Brighton Dolphin Project, a new initiative launched by the World Cetacean Alliance, aims to improve awareness about the importance of local marine ecosystems and species in the Brighton area. The project aims to achieve this through educational experiences and outreach events. This summer, we will be hosting a series of Marine Experts Talks, where people from different organisations will come to the Discovery Centre to discuss their pioneering work in marine conservation.

Billy Heaney is a University of Exeter masters student and an aspiring wildlife filmmaker. Photographing and filming wildlife has been a hobby of his for many years, and has been able to study the ecology and conservation of Grey Seals. He will be presenting his documentary, In search of the Killer Whale, where he heads to Iceland in search of the largest member of the Dolphin family, the Orca or Killer Whale. To add to the excitment, Billy will be sharing his incredible experiences with marine wildlife in the UK and across the world.

If you’re a fan of Orcas, or marine wildlife in general, this is a talk you don’t want to miss.
